Professor Tsai-Yen Li acquired his B.S. degree from the Agricultural Machinery Engineering Department of the National Taiwan University in 1986 and his Master and Ph.D. degrees from the Computer Science Department and Mechanical Engineering Department of Stanford University in 1992 and 1995, respectively. Prof. Li is currently a faculty member in the Computer Science Department of National Chengchi University. Prof. Li's professional experiences include the full-time Teaching Assistant of NTU, Research Assistant and system engineer of Stanford University, Software Engineer in General Electrics, Senior Software Engineer of the Motion Factory Inc. His main research interests include motion planning, robotics, artificial intelligence, computer animation, virtual reality, user interface, multimedia system, computational geometry, distributed system, and design of information systems.

In recent years, the researches by the Intelligent Media Lab at National Chengchi University directed by Prof. Li focus on applying the techniques of Artificial Intelligence to Computer Animation, Virtual Reality, and User Interface in order to create autonomous digital actors and intelligent media systems. Prof. Li offers many fundamental undergraduate courses such as Introduction to Computer Science, Object-Oriented Programming, Algorithm, Component Algorithm, Algorithm, Computer Consulting Service, Introduction to Network Media, Geometric Reasoning and Applications, and Computer Animation. Prof. Li is a member of IEEE, ACM, IICM, Automation Association, and Artificial Intelligence Association. Professor Li is also active in serving the community by organizing several international conferences.
